A private residence inside Bayport Beach & Tennis Club — twenty-seven acres of palms and pathways where the Gulf of Mexico meets Sarasota Bay, and the day unspools at the speed of the tide.
Set within the private 800 cluster of Bayport Beach & Tennis Club, Unit 837 lives like a villa — a ground-floor residence with its own walk-out entrance, a private garden patio, and the unmistakable feel of a stand-alone home. Two bedrooms, two baths, 1,260 square feet, turnkey furnished.
Mornings begin on the lanai with the rustle of palms; afternoons drift between the Gulf, a few steps west, and the bay, a few steps east; evenings end with the golden glow of a Longboat sunset, glass in hand.
Designed by Tim Seibert of the celebrated Sarasota School of Architecture and built in 1983, Bayport is one of the few addresses on the Key that stretches Gulf to Bay — a community of palms, gardens, and quiet pathways across twenty-seven tropical acres.
We bought 837 thinking we'd spend a winter or two on Longboat Key. Decades later, we still do.
What we love most about Bayport is the rhythm — coffee on the lanai while the palms wake up, a walk to the beach before the heat lifts, an afternoon swim, dinner with friends on the bay. It hasn't changed. That, more than anything, is the point.
If you stay with us, we hope you find your own version of that pace. Welcome to 837.
Every Bayport resident and guest has full use of the community's grounds, carefully maintained, gently private, and designed to feel like an old-world seaside village.
One of the few addresses on Longboat Key that reaches from the Gulf to the bay — a place where the architecture knows how to disappear into its garden.
Longboat Key is the polished, quieter side of Sarasota — uncrowded beaches between the Gulf and the bay, with world-class culture and dining a short bridge away.
Glorious landscaping, a beautiful private beach, a wonderful dock reaching far into the bay, and many other extras.
The property owners are terrific. The apartment was impeccable and met all needs and beyond. We will definitely return.
Absolutely amazing. The best place on Longboat Key, Florida.

Bayport is a private Gulf-front community with 1,200 feet of private beach — a brief walk from your door. The community also fronts Sarasota Bay with a fishing pier and kayak launch. Unit 837 itself is a ground-floor garden residence; its lanai opens onto a private patio, while the Gulf and bay are each a short walk away.
One pet per residence is welcome — a cat, or a dog no taller than 15 inches at the shoulder per the HOA. Please mention your pet when you inquire.
The residence is turnkey furnished and includes Wi-Fi, cable television, an in-unit washer and dryer, all linens and towels, kitchen essentials, one assigned covered parking space with a locked storage closet, and full access to the beach, pool, tennis courts, fitness pavilion, kayak launch, fishing pier, and clubhouse.
The season runs roughly November through April, with the warmest beach weather February through April. Summer is quieter and lush, with afternoon Gulf breezes; fall offers the best value and the most uncrowded beaches.
